What other magic exists in the folds of forest untouched by mankind?
The unlikely duo was spotted – and then photographed – by Finnish photographer Lassi Rautiainen when she was venturing through the untrodden backcountry of her homeland.
Seeing the female wolf and the male brown bear living as close companions, she felt compelled to follow and photograph them for 10 days.
As you can see for yourself, the pair ventures everywhere together. They even hunt and share the spoils they’ve caught.

In Finland, the most forested country in Europe, there is 4.5 hectares of forest for every person, according to the Finnish Forest Association. That leaves a lot of space for nature to progress uninhibited by mankind. Who knows what other magic exists in the folds of forest untouched by humans?
Practices like clear-cutting, to make way for housing development, are adversely affecting wildlife populations. Unfortunately, greed has gotten in the way of common sense, and the implications of continuous expansion are still not fully understood.
